Mount Carmel Youth Ranch does not use behavior modification techniques to control the outcome or force a change in behavior instead they use the LOVE And LOGIC® approach. At Mount Carmel Youth Ranch, once a young man achieves stability and predictability in his daily life, he is freed from a fear of failure or lack of control in his life. Mount Carmel Youth Ranch allows and administers anti-depression medication if the boy’s doctor has prescribed it. Often, the need to adjust or take the young man off these medications after a period of time at Mount Carmel Youth Ranch (MTCYR) is observed. At this point, the teen typically sees a local supportive psychiatrist for evaluation to determine the right course of action for the future.
